Since I was a little girl, I have kept a running list of journals, pictures, scrapbooks, cards, newspaper articles….you name it, it’s in my safe keeping. Being a child that grew up in the 90’s and early 2000’s…I’ve always felt a little 'stuck in between'. I’ve lived without the Internet during a time that I can clearly remember. I grew up copying my social studies notes from a chalkboard and writing my exams in blue books; no scantrons, no multiple choice. I didn’t get my first cell phone until college and before then, my family shared one of those old block Nokia phones, needless to say, I remember what it was like to be able to go out without the necessity to contact someone without finding (or not finding) a pay phone. I grew up on a beautiful little island in The Bahamas with no chain restaurants or fancy retail stores. Today however, we live in a world where everything is instant; clothing, food, research, reading and most of all sharing our lives on the Internet for everyone and anyone to see! I have struggled with this concept of transparency for some time now… I’m just not sure how I feel about putting my life experiences out there on ‘the world wide web’! Needless to say…I’ve decided to go for the plunge!
As I am writing this I keep thinking….what am I going to make the focus of this blog about? I could do it on swimming…or maybe my yoga journey, what about love & relationships? Wait a minute…let’s take a step back here, if you know me…which many of you may not, you would know that my motto for life is to find balance wherever you are. Therefore, choosing a ‘focus’ for this journey would be completely counterintuitive and putting myself into a tiny little box! As a result, I have created what you see here, just ‘what is’. Whatever is happening, or not happening… a running document of all the curve balls life throws our way and hopefully some snippets of inspiration amongst this crazy adventure we call life!
